Richard Lowenburg

NYC-based actor and musician

Who am I?

I’m a theatre and film actor dedicated to creating community through collaborative storytelling. I’m passionate about bringing creative, daring, and vital stories to life. I received my BFA in Acting from NYU Tisch where I trained at the Atlantic Theater Company and RADA in London.

Classically trained from a young age, I became enthralled with jazz and improvisation as a teenager. Inspired by harmonic geniuses like Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock, I channels the joy and complexity of life through his music. I co-lead and play keys with the funk-fusion project Mysa.

Teaching Artist

My life has been shaped by great teachers. I aim to do for my students what my teachers did for me, sparking imagination, creativity, and fun through drama and music.

I grew up performing magic and playing chess on a small farm outside Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m currently based in Brooklyn, NY where I enjoy baking bread and walking quickly.
